The herbal form consists of dried mature flowers and subtending leaves of pistillate ("female") plants. The major biologically active compound in cannabis is Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol referred to as THC. Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active cannabinoid identified in cannabis.
